Joe never achieved the degree of wealth, power or celebrity that this world uses to measure a man's life, but to conclude that his life was of littie consequence would be an egregious error. Because when the truer measurement of how much one loved others is Joe can was be in as this successful life. loved deeply and always placed the needs of others above his own. He was loving and faithful husband to his beloved wife June for over 60 years.

He always expressed his gratitude to her for the kind and loving care she gave during his illness. He never saw his daughter Jan without feeling blessed to be her father and he love his son-in-law David. His eyes always lit up whenever one of the grandchildren, Katie, Chris, Kristen and Jessica came by for a visit. Joe was part of what Tom Brokaw has called "America's greatest generation." was old school all the way. He believed in honor, loyalty and duty.

He spent decades as a high school teacher and administrator. He coached football with passion for the game and for his players. Literally hundreds of young men he mentored lived fuller, richer lives because of him. He worked hard to attain a Master's Degree in ED. from Univ.

of So. Cal. Joe no stranger to pain and heartache. He experienced poverty, WWII and the cruelest cut of all, the death of his precious son Dean. That not everyone loved and appreciated Joe was simply because not everyone had the chance to meet him.

Given 5 minutes, Joe would know your what you did for a living, your favorite football team and would have made sure you knew how happy he was to have made your acquaintance. Joe Marshall will be greatly missed by all who had the good fortune to know to love him and, most importantly, to be loved by him. Our comfort lies in our belief in the Resurrection and the knowledge that we will one day see him again.
