GOLDEN BEARDEN JANUARY 30, 2008 JANUARY 15, 2008 Margaret Kahler Bearden, Cape Coral, FL passed away suddenly, Jan.15, 2008, age 94.

A 1936 graduate of the Univ. of Illinois, and fifty year resiRochester, NY, Bearden, She moved was a to Cape teacher, Coral lecturer, historian and consultant to Lincoln scholars. A life member of the Surratt Society, Clinton, MD, her Lincoln collection is archived in Georgetown University.

Former president of Delta Gamma alumnae, she received a national Award for volunteer service, including work for the Association for the Blind. One of the founders of the Wuerzburg-Rochester Sister City partnership, she was also a life member of ATAD, Assoc. of Teenage Diplomats, part of the Rochester Assoc. of the United Nations. She holds a national award from the GerEmbassy for promoting understanding thru student exchanges.

In Cape Coral she Distinguished Member of the German American Social Club and often hosted visiting musicians from Germany. A life member of the U. of Illinois Alumni Mrs. Bearden belonged to the U. of IL Alumni of SW FL, was lecturer at the Land of Lincoln Club, and hosted many meetings of a local organ guild.

Blessed with more than 71 years of marriage, she is missed by all who were honored to know her. MARGUERITE KRISTOFF BOROS JANUARY 29, 2008 Marguerite Kristoff Boros, 82, died Tuesday, January 29, 2008. She born February 1, 1925 in Columbus, OH to Alex and Clara Simon Kristoff. She moved to Fort Myers with her husband and family in 1953. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend.

Marguerite was preband Stephen P. Jr. deceased by her husbeloved, and her parents. She is survived by her two daughters, Marguerite B. Brewer (Gregory) and Deborah J.

Boros, two wonderful grandchildren, Christopher and Leah and Leah's. fiance' Todd Harris, two sisters, Ethel K. Hurley of Columbus, OH and Jean K. Hussey (Jerry) of Fort Myers, many nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2008 at 1PM with visitation one hour prior to the service at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

THE NEWS-PRESS FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 1, 2008 ARNON TAYLOR IVES JANUARY 28, 2008 Arnon Taylor Ives of Estero, FL, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2008, at the age of 80.

He was born on January 2, 1928, in Meriden, CT, to birth parents Robert and Isabella Ives. From the age of two he was lovingly raised by his foster parents, Ira and Edith Kinch, and grew up in New London, CT. Arnie entered the Army at age 17 after graduating from high school. served as a radio operator and cryptograand was stationed in Caserta, Italy, for two years. In 1947 he was reassigned to the U.S.

and served his last year as a Corporal in the Pentagon. In June 1953 Arnie graduated from the Univ. of Connecticut with a B.S. in Business Administration and went to work for Sears in Rochester, NY. Until his retirement in 1990, his career was predominantly spent with Sears in many locales, first retail sales management and then as transportation manager, with the exception a fouryear stint in the early 70's when he and a friend were the original owners and operators of the Sailfish Marina in Port Salerno, FL.

Arnie and his wife Linda moved to FL in June 2001 from Warrington, PA. Arnie was a kind and generous man and loving husband father and will be forever missed by his wife Linda; sons Arnon 11, Daniel, and James; daughter Robin; and the many friends he has held in his life from boyhood and throughout his career. He is survived by his son, the pride and joy of his life, Justin Robinette.

Rodney is also survived by his former wife Jean Robinette and siblings (in order of birth) Jimmy Robinette Corinne Cibelli, Elizabeth John Bruce Dean Linda Robinette, Debbie John his step fathers Daniel Zabinofsky and Vern Frey, his mother-in-law Louise Lennon and his favorite dogs Lightning and Bruiser. He has many nieces and nephews as well as extended family and friends both in Florida and West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Cordell and Rusty Robinette and oldest brother Stephen Robinette. Despite his health challenges of never complained, Rodney, owned and operated Robinette's Ceramic Tile, a successful flooring business for many years. Rodney and his family would want him to be remembered most for his strong faith in God, his loving heart and his unforgettable sense of humor.

RICHARD LEE MCCANDLESS JANUARY 29, 2008 Richard Lee McCandless, 73, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Butler, PA and DuBois, PA, died Tuesday evening, January 29th, at his home in Cape Coral after a battle with Cancer. He is survived by his wife, Pat Miller; two daughters and sonsin-law, Mary Scott Burkholder (Cranberry Twp, PA) and Beth Ann and Albert Karadeema (Jacksonville, FL); grandchildren, Joshua and Rebekah Karadeema and KrysBurkholder; tala their spouses, Kathy and Steve Bystrom, Eric Cheryl Miller, Debi and Steve Holzhauer; and sister, Kaye McCandless Ryan (Hudson, OH). Born in Pittsburgh, PA, May 30, 1934, he was the son of Lee and Zella McCandless of Butler, PA. Raised in Bulter, he graduated from Butler High School in 1951.

He graduated from Haverford College in 1955 and Dickenson School of Law in 1960. He was a member of the PA Bar Association from 1960 2006 and retired from Dillon, McCandless, King, Coulter and Graham, LLP. Mr. McCandless was a Member of Courts of Butler County and PA Supreme Court beginning in 1960. He was the Treasurer and Chairman of the Ethics Committee for the Butler County Bar Association 1964- 1969.

He was an active member of the Butler Elks Lodge 170, became Grand Exalted Ruler for 1966-1967 and District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler for the Western District of PA Elks in 1970. He was honored as "Elk of the Year" in 1967-68 and accepted the position of State Chairman of the Cerebral Palsy Fund Raising Committee 1969. A member of the Butler County Fair and Agriculture Association 1974 1988 and the US Trotting Association from 1970 2002, he was an avid harness, racing fan. He was a of the Fraternal Order of Police, Victory Lodge 694, New Castle Consistory, and the Syria Shriners. His other lifelong hobby was golf, being a member of the Treasure Lake Golf Association 1986 2004 (Du Bois) and the Cypress Lake Country Club 1999 2007 (Ft.

Myers, FL). Mr. McCandless was celebrated in both Community Leaders of America in 1971 and Who's Who East in both 1970 and 1975. Upon retirement, he resided on Sanibel Island and later Ft. Myers, FL.

He has been a member of the Cape Coral First United Methodist Church for the last three years. He also spent a great deal of time in the summer at his home on Treasure Lake in Du Bois, PA. His life's accomplishments are only surpassed by his unending love and support of his two daughters and their families, and his inspirational zest for living throughout his battle with cancer. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the immediate family in Cape Coral, FL at a later date. Donations in Mr.

JANUARY 30, 2008 William Lonnie Mitchell age 78, passed from this earth to his heavenly home on Wednesday, January 30, 2008. Words cannot express how heartbreaking it is for our family to loose Lonnie, but we do know that his spirit left his body and went immediately to Heaven. Lonnie has met Jesus and discovered the answers to questions we all have. We also know that he is with his oldest son, Billy, whose spirit went to Heaven in 2002. Lonnie was born in Lepanto, Arkansas and followed his mother and daddy to Florida when he was 16 years old.

What stories he had. He married A Ann Jackson when they were both 18 years old and they began their life together in Lonnie was so proud to begin working for FPL in Jan. 1952, and he worked hard for them for 38 years. After retiring in 1989, he enjoyed woodworking and spent time making things for family and friends. Lonnie and Ann moved to Fort Myers in 1958 and made their home in Olga, where they raised their family of four children: Billy, Johnny, Cindy and Julie.

After a life filled with children, animals, working, fishing, Babe Ruth baseball, bee keeping, Olga Baptist Church and Mason Tropical Lodge 56, Lonnie leaves behind his loving and devoted wife Ann, and three children: Johnny (Barb) Mitchell, Cindy (Brian) Hyder, and Julie (Matt) Curtis. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Stacey (Mitchell) Roesch was his first grandchild and he was thrilled when she was born. Myers 330155 French, his first and only grandson, also grew up close by and loved Lonnie all his life. Lonnie loved and delighted in all his grand and great-grandchildren. He was so proud of each of them and expressed his love and pride often. Stacey, Buffy, and Robby were just especially blessed to grow up close to their granddaddy. Lonnie and Ann were married 61 years, devoted to each other and their family.

Throughout his struggle with cancer the last couple years, Ann lovingly cared for him at home. We thank God for giving her the strength to continue, right to the end. She was determined to stay by his side and care for as long as she possibly could. Lonnie passed away peacefully in his own home with Ann by his side. Lonnie was a very strong but gentle soul who loved the outdoors and all God's creatures.

His life revolved around family, work, and God. He was a good man. The family is extremely grateful to all the wonderful employees at FL Cancer Specialist, especially Dr.McCleod and Laraine Mouthaan. Also dear Dr. Axlerod who cared for Lonnie so well, and Hope Hospice of Lehigh.

A memorial service will be held at Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home, 12777 State Rd. 82, on Saturday, February 2, at 1PM. Friends may visit an hour prior to the service. Lee Memorial Park Funeral Home 334-4880 Thomas F. Golden, 59, of Fort Myers, went to be with the Lord January 30, 2008.

Thomas was born October 22, 1948 in Brooklyn, NY to J. and Wanda (Mesquita) Golden. He moved to Fort Myers a little over 2 years ago from Long Island, New York. Thomas was a devoted family man and he will be remembered as the world's greatest dad and grandfather. Survivors include his two daughters, Lindsey (Christopher) Kohser of McLeansville, NC, and Erin Golden (Paul Ferrante) of Fort Myers, his 3 grandchildren, Paul, Michael, and Grace, and many extended family and beloved friends.

The family will receive friends Saturday, February 2nd, 2-4 a Celebration of Thomas's life to be held the 3:00 pm, at HarveyFuneral Home, 1600 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers. LEE PARKER BURGESS JANUARY 27, 2008 Lee Parker Burgess, 91, of Fort Myers, FL passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008. Born in New Haven, he was the son of the late Charles Leslie and Lillian Hanah Johnson Burgess. He graduated from Yale University in 1937, where he was a member of the swim team. Following graduation he worked for 23 years with Wire in St. MO and was Rope Corporation of America President of Belcher Mallable Iron Company in Easton, MA for 20 years when he retired.

is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Elizabeth Tuttle Burgess; two sons: Lee P. Burgess, Jr. and wife Carol of Kansas City, MO and Richard (Dick) Burgess wife Virginia (Ginny) of Spartanburg, SC; four grandchildren: Barbara Burgess Stubbs and husband Jud of Spartanburg, Brian Burgess of New York, NY, Richard Burgess, Jr. and wife Tara of Roebuck and Sara (Shelley) Burgess of Denver, CO; three greatgrandchildren: Matthew Campbell, Sara Burgess, and Scott Parker Burgess; and a Special Friend: Edna Walker. He was predeceased by three sisters and a great-grandson: Timothy Scott Burgess.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302. Following the cremation, Mr. Burgess' cremains will be scattered at his home on the Island of Grenada, West Indies. The family will be at their respective homes.

He was born in Minneapolis, MN August and 17, 1939 Jane to Van Harold Sant Hargrove grove. David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert. Surviving David are his loving wife Dottie, son Richard Hargrove, daughter-in-law Cheryl, and grandson Nick of Eden Prairie, MN, and stepchildren, Tim Lockhart, daughter-in-law, Tracy and grandsons, Jack and Michael of Wauwatosa WI, Joy Martin, son-in-law, Roger and granddaughters, Samantha and Versailles, IL.
