Ivey of Hickory, N. announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Stuart, to Jan Kennedy Hitner of Fort Myers Beach. The wedding will take place in November. Miss Ivey is a graduate of Lenoir Rhyne colleee. Hickory, and Duke univer Miss Angie Shellabarger and Miss Evelyn Hanchey spent the week-end at Fort Mlers Beach.

Mrs. Cyrus Santini of Fort Myers Beach was taken to Lee Memorial hospital yesterday. Mrs. Ida Flint of LaBelle was taken to Lee Memorial hospital yesterday for medical attention. clean up their years and do little things around the house! Or decorate new office.

The Ritz played "Boy Meets Girl" yesterday and in the afternoon the Hoist were active in the setting for the dramiher "Boy Gets Girl." Pender returned to Everglades Sunday evening from their vacation. Mr. and Mrs. D. Graham Cope-land arrived Sunday from three weeks vacation at Hendersonville, N.

C. While away Mr. Copeland visited friends and relatives in Bamberg, S. C. his old home.

Ray Barnes, state conservation agent of Bonita springs spent Saturday here on business. A. H. Peiter, A. J.

Little and Major Close of the WPA office at Miami spent' Friday here on business. They visited Marco island accompanied by F. J. Frankenhoff, where a new project will start on the Collier City school. Bud Kirk of Marco was appointed as timekeeper and Mr.

Yates was appoint-e das foreman of the project. The work will begin Tuesday, Sept. 6, and will continue for about four months'. The work includes a new water tank and tower, a basketball court and landscaping. Henry Thompson of Chokoloskee spent Saturday here on business.

Mr. and Mrs. F. D. Lowe and daughter Evelyn spent Friday shopping in Miami.

Mrs. R. M. Gilbert of Estero is visiting her sister, Mrs. F.

S. Lewis, and Lewis over the week-end. Everglades Mr. and Mrs. N.

Hoist, brother-in-law and sister of the bride. The Rev. Rembert.A. Guy, pastor of the First Methodist church, officiated in the presence of the families and a few intimate friends. The young couple took the vows before an altar at the end of the living room.

Potted palms formed a background for floor baskets of white asters and candles in cathedral candelabra lighted the setting. Baskets of roses, asters and other flowers were arranged throughout the house. George R. Lynn, pianist, played group of musical selections as fno nnaofa urova a com nl inn1 anrl played the Bridal March from Lohengrin as the processional. The bride entered the room on the arm of Mr.

Hoist, who gave her in marriage. She was wed in her going away dress of Teal blue crepe, two piece and fashioned with a full biouse appliqued in Dusty Pink and Wine. The short skirt was pleated all the way around. She wore a short veil with her small blue felt hat. Her corsage was of gardenias, Miss Mary Elza Hoist, niece of the bride and her bridesmaid, wore a Dirndl frock of Wine crepe and her accessories were of black.

With her black felt hat she wore an off-the-face veil and her corsage was of gardenias. James E. Hendry, was the best man. Mrs. Sheppard's dress was of blue figured crepe with a white background and her corsage was of pink roses.

Mrs. Hoist was dressed in lavender chiffon with white accessories and her corsage was of pink roses, An informal reception was held immediately after the wedding. Miss Jacqueline Hoist, wearing an aqua crepe frock and Miss Betty Fauikner, wearing a black crepe dress, assisted in the serving of wedding cake and punch. The bride's table, spread with a lace cloth, was centered with a tiered wedding cake adorned with a miniature bride and groom. White candles in crystal holders were placed on either side of the cake.

Asters in pastel shades formed the decorations in the dining room. Mrs. Alderman, with her mother came to Fort Myers from Americus, three years ago to make their home. The bride's father, the late John Elza Sheppard, at the time of his death was a prominent lawyer in Americus and had served as mayor of that city as well as having represented Sumter county in the state legislature and senate for several years. Mrs.

Alderman' was graduated from the Americus high school and later took a secretarial course at the Americus business college. For the past two years she has been employed at the First National bank. The groom, a native of Fort Myers received his elementary education in local public schools and later was graduated from the University of Virginia law school. He is a member of the law firm of Alderman and Alderman. Mr.

and Mrs. Alderman, left late yesterday by motor for New Orleans where they plan to spend their honeymoon. They plan to be away two weeks and upon their return will occupy their home on Avalon street. Leslie Russell returned to Fort Myers yesterday after spending the week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Gene Washburn of Ever- lades. They all motored to Miami fcunday. Miss Lydie Whiting returned to Tampa yesterday after spending the week-end in Fort Myers.
