ETHEL M. POPHAM Ethel M. Popham, age 79, died July 30, 1996 at her home in Fort Myers. She was born Mar. 11, 1917 in Williston, N.D., and had been a Florida resident for the past 23 years.

Ethel was a past st president of Whiskey Creek Women's Club, and a life member of the Society of Symphony Women, and an active member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, where she sang in the choir. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Carl F. Popham of Fort Myers; a daughter, Carol Staehle and husband John from Arlington, two sons: John W. Popham and wife Susan of Cleveland, Ohio, and Richard L. Popham and wife Cindy of Salt Lake City, Utah; seven grandchildren; one brother, Walter Sharbo of Belle Fourche, S.D.

Quick of Morgan Hill, daughter, Marcia Quick Gard of Indianapolis, two brothers, George Hayden of Waterloo, lowa, and Jack Hayden of Rochester, sister, June Sanders of Fort Myers; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sue Anne Quick, in 1993, and two brothers, Vincent Hayden in 1986, and Tom Hayden in 1992. There will be no local services.
