JOHN VEREMKO John Veremko, 60, of 557 Skylark Lane N.W., Port Charlotte, died May 27 at his residence. He was born in Her-rick, Ohio, and moved to this area 13 years ago from Cleveland. Mr. Veremko was retired from the Cleveland Police Department. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge No.

8, and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Veremko; two sisters Olga Rackoski of Cleveland and Ann Veremko of Arlington, and several nieces and nephews. Roberson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements. WILLIAM H.

WELSH William H. Welsh, 67, of 2725 St. Thomas Drive, Punta Gorda, died May 30 at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in Fort Myers. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Mr. Welsh moved here two years ago from Largo.

He was the retired owneroperator of Welsh Real Estate in Staten Island. He was a member of the Staten Island Masonic Lodge No. 1912 AM and FM, the Richmond County, N.Y., Yacht Club and the Punta Gorda Elks. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Welsh of Punta Gorda; daughters Robin Lentine and Laurie A. Price, both of New Jersey; and a sister, Doris Legate of North Carolina.

Homer, 77, of Port Charlotte, died May 25 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born in Harrisburg, and came to this area 10 years ago from Niagra Falls, N.Y. Mrs. Homer was a retired nurse.

Survivors include one son, Laurence Hosterman of Los Angeles; and one daughter, Nancy Hosterman of Port Charlotte. Kays-Ponger Funeral Home, Port Charlotte Chapel, was in charge of local arrangements. WALTER C. METZGER Walter C. Metzger, 79, of 24437 Harborview Road, Charlotte Harbor, died May 27 at his residence.

He was born in Lester, Iowa, and moved to this area 14 years ago from LaSalle-Peru, III. Mr. Metzger was a retired machine operator for Brethren Publishing Co. of Elgin, and was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles No. 3296, Charlotte Harbor, and Loyal Order of the Moose No.

2121, Port Charlotte. Survivors include his wife, Lucille R. Metzger; two sons, Walter A. Metzger of Humble, Texas, and Richard Metzger of Sevierville, one sister, Esther Barnhardt of Morton, and three grandchildren. Roberson Funeral Home and Crematory was in charge of arrangements.

MARIE A. NICKS Marie A. Nicks, 77, of Port Charlotte, died May 25 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She was born in Milwaukee and came to this area in 1979 from Minocgua, Wis. Mrs.

Nicks was a homemaker and was of the Presbyterian faith. Survivors include one son, Edward Nicks of Midland, Texas; one daughter, Anna Mae Melhuse of Stockton, and four grandchildren. Kays-Ponger Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. BURT W. ROUNDTREE Burt W.

Roundtree, 50, of 306 Allen Punta Gorda, died May 29 at home. A native of Punta Gorda, Mr. Roundtree was the owner and operator of Septic Tank Service. Survivors include his wife, Betty Sue Roundtree of Punta Gorda; daughters Gina Doster and Wynn Demon-breun, both of Fort Myers; a brother, Richard Roundtree of Tallahassee; and five grandchildren. The Punta Gorda chapel of Kays-Ponger Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MARIANNE C. SKINNER Marianne Cummings Skinner, 69, of 22333 Edgewater Drive, Port Charlotte, died May 21. She was born in Indianapolis and came to this area in 1983 from Pala Alto, Calif. Mrs. Skinner was an office manager for a mortgage company.

She also was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Fraternity, the Purdue Alumni Association, Girl Scounts of America and was a secretary-treasurer for Edgewater Manor Association. Survivors include two daughters, Ann Skinner Jones of Areata, and Nancy Moriarty of West LaFayette, one son, William Skinner of Los Angeles; her mother, Alice Cummings; and four grandchildren. BERTHA SINTAY Bertha Sintay, 83, of 172 N.W. Ber-sell Port Charlotte, died May 27 at St. Joseph Hospital. She was born in Ohio and came to this area 15 years ago from Springfield, III. Mrs.

She was born in New Jersey and came to this area 27 years ago from Charleroi, Pa.

Mrs. Bazil was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of Christ in Punta Gorda. Survivors include her son, Joseph Bazil of Punta Gorda; one daughter, Marleen Cassatt of Punta Gorda; two brothers, Samuel Yachup of Pittsburgh and Michael Yachup of Punta Gorda; one sister, Pauline Silbor of Fort Myers; three grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. CLAUDY Elmer M. Claudy, 81, of 2100 Kings Highway, Port Charlotte, died May 24. He was born in Newport, and came to this area eight years ago from South Gate, Ky. Mr. Claudy was a retired jewelry manufacturer.

He belonged to the Masonic Lodge No. 358 of Newport, and served in the Army during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Inez Claudy of Port Charlotte; and two brothers, Howard Claudy of Ft. Thomas, and Robert Claudy of Law-renceburj, Tenn. Services will be held on Sunday at 2 p.m.

at the Pilgrim United Church of Christ in Port Charlotte. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens. Contributions may be made to the Pilgrim United Church of Christ, 2120 Loveland Port Charlotte, 33952. Roberson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. MARY R.

COLBOURNE Mary R. Colbourne, 88, of 4033 Beaver Lane, Port Charlotte, died May 24. She was born in Manchester, and came to this area 16 years from Wayland, Mass. Mrs. Colbourne was a homemaker and was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary Groton of Harbour Heights and Ina Hathorne of Cary, N.C.; and one son, Paul Colbourne of Shelton, Conn. Kays-Ponger Funeral Home was In charge of arrangements. CLARA M. GUY Clara M. Guy, "82, of 2189 N.W.

Green Port Charlotte, died May 28 at Fawcett Memorial Hospital. She was born In Ne Castle, and moved to this area 17 years ago from Ann Arbor, Mich. Mrs. Guy was a charter member of the Women's Missionary Prayer Fellowship and was a member of the First Christian and Missionary Alliance Church in Port Charlotte. Survivors Include her husband, the Rev.

Ralph W. Guy; two sons, Ralph D. Guy of Titusville and James E. Guy of Ypsilanti, one brother, Charles A. Davis Jr.

of Strongsville, Ohio; three sisters, Alice R. Walker of New Castle, Beulah Plessinger of Fallen Timbers, and Ruth Johnston of Irvona, 10 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. Paul Schelm Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. CHESTER HAYS Chester flays, 69, of 8433 San Pablo North Port, died May 24 at Eng-lewood Community Hospital. He came to this area nine years ago from New York.

Mr. Hays was a retired gas turbine assistant, was a veteran of World War II and was a member of the Charlotte Promenaders. Survivors Include his wife, Muriel Hays of North Port; one daughter, Linda Pileggi of New York; one sister, Win-nifred Knappof New York; and one granddaughter, Nicole Pileggi of New York. HEARD III James Tfiomas Heard III, 19, of 1346 Strasburg Drive, Port Charlotte, died May 24. He was born in Denver, and came to this area three months ago from Freeport, Texas. Mr. Heard was a Baptist and had attended Neil Armstrong Elementary School in Port Charlotte. Survivors include his parents, James and Rebecca Heard of Port Charlotte; one sister, Renee Cheaney of Port Charlotte; one brother, Joshua Heard of Port Charlotte; paternal grandmother, Wynnette Heard of Houston; and maternal grandparents, James and Helen Runion of Rockport, Texas.
