He was born In Spring Valley, N.Y., and had been a resident here lor nine years, coming from Spring Valley. THELMA WALL AUBLE Thelma Wall Auble. 70. of 445 Morgan Circle, Lehigh Acres, died Wednesday ot Lehigh Acres General Hospital. She was born In Philadelphia- and had moved to Lehigh Acres four years ago from Philadelphia. She Is survived bv a son, Herbert Auble of Philadelphia, Pa.

LABELLE Ralph Phllmore Webber 76, of 516 Elizabeth died Tuesday evening in Clewiston, He was a native ot Freedom, Maine, and hod moved to LaBelie nine years ago from Eliot, Maine. Grace Johnson ot Arcadia; five stepchildren, George Burnham of Oneco, John Burn-ham of Fort Mvers, and Jeff Wells, Ronnie Ruff and Lucy Godwin, all of Punto Gorda; two brothers, Ira Powell of Punta Gorda and Robert Powell of Fort Mvers; 14 grandchildren, 15 stepgrandchildren and one greatgrandchild. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the Church ot God with the Rev. Willie Team officiating. Burial will be at Indian Springs Cemetery.

MARK L. ABBOTT Mark L. Abbott, 74, of Tiffin, Ohio, and a visitor to Fort Mvers Beach, died Thursday. He is survived by his wile, Mary Abbott ol Tittin, Ohio. The bodv was sent Friday to the Young Funeral Home In Green Springs, Ohio, for service and burial.

Leo W. Engelhardt Funeral Home was in charge of local arrangements. JOHN FRANK SCHMELZER John Frank Schmelzer, 81, ot 1830 Brantley Road, Fort Mvers, formerly a resident ot Cape Coral, died Friday at Cape Coral Hospital. He came here 14 years oso from Cleveland, Ohio, and was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and the- Holy Name Society.

He is survived bv his wife, Marie Schmelzer of Fort Myers. Funeral service will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at the chapel ot the Metz Funeral Home of Cape Coral. Burial will be at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m.

He came to Florida 17 years ago from Stamford. Conn. He was a 50-vear member of Palestine Chapter 159 R. A.M. in Detroit, and the Scottish Rite in Bridgeport, Conn.

He is survived bv his wife, Mrs. Helen Smith; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Patricia McPeake of Milford. and Mrs. June Ramsay ot Fort Myers; two sisters, Mrs.

Ann Lesley of Detroit, and Mrs. Mamie Stevens of Loguna Beach. two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of the Harvev Funeral Home, 1600 Colonial with the Rev.

Robert C. Asmuth, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be at Lee Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 D.m. J.

CHANDLER BURTON J. Chandler Burton, 82. of 722 Sharar Court, Cape Coral, died Thursday at Cape Coral Hospital. He came to Cape Coral 12 years ago from Washington, D.C. He was a member of the Faith United Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral, a member and ppst president in 1973 pf the Kiwanis Club, and had served as vice president of the Cape Coral Civic Association.

He was active with the Chamber of Commerce and was appointed os Cape Coral's second mayor on Jan. 8. 1973, after serving on the City Council for the first two years of the city's life. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Burton of Cape Coral; one son, J. Chandler Burton Jr.

of Arlington, one daughter, Jean Lobel of Silver Spring, one brother, Steve Burton of Birmingham, five sisters, Edith Stonecipher, Martha Lambert, Margaret Youngblood, Fern Hansen and Ethel Burton, all of Montgomery, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends today from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Tant Funeral Home in Cape Coral. Funeral service will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Tant Funeral Home with the Rev.

Air crash suit nets $5 million MIAMI (AP) A federal court jury late Friday recommended a damage award of more than $5 mil- lion to the estates and families of four men killed in the collision of their light plane with an Air Force jet near Lake Okeechobee in 1976. The federal government did not contest its liability in the case and the only question before the jury in a week-long trial was the amount of damages.

Under federal court procedure, the findings of the jury are not binding, A Cessna 414 owned by Ruel In- surance Corp. of Miami was flying near Brighton Indian Reservation when it collided with a $4 million Air Force F-4 Phantom jet and crashed.
